What makes you beautiful?

- Practice, Practice, Practice

One popular musical group today is “One Direction,” a British pop group. They were most recently seen worldwide singing at the closing ceremony of the Olympics. The song they chose for that performance was one of their first and most famous songs, called “What makes you beautiful?”

As I was driving home a few months ago, and, yes, listening to this song, it gave me pause to try to answer the question. What really makes each one of us beautiful?

Most of us may think we know what the word beautiful means, but I took a moment to look it up in a dictionary, which defined it as “having qualities that give great pleasure or satisfaction to see, hear, think about, etc.” Another definition was, “excellent of its kind,” and yet another said, “wonderful, very pleasing or satisfying.”
