My global family

- What Membership in The Mother Church means to me

As a teenager, I often felt alone and disconnected from life. But when I had the opportunity to join The Mother Church, it gave me a sense of really belonging to a community. Christian Science had always been so wonderful and uplifting, and joining the Church made me realize that we have the ability to rise above all human circumstances as we unite with other metaphysical thinkers who are seeing the world as it really is: the world of Spirit.

Through these many years, the inspiration I have gained from membership in The Mother Church has made me a better employee, parent, and worker in our branch church, especially in Sunday School. I am so grateful for all the avenues which The Mother Church has provided—not only Christian Science lectures and the periodicals, but Sunday School and other church work, too—that help me see that my family, my global family, consists of God and His ideas. It has helped me through so many circumstances.

I’ve always been so grateful, too, for the Christian Science Board of Directors, who sees that the Church has what it needs as far as healing articles, Christian Science lecturers, and other Church Manual based activities are concerned.
