Free from the fire

The Bible story of the “fiery furnace” (see Dan. , chap.

A living Bible prophesy

The Bible promises that “the earth [will] be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea” ( Hab. 2:14 ), meaning that inevitably we will all awaken to see, through spiritual understanding, man as the perfect child of God—and the real universe as presently perfect and complete.

Opportunities for spiritual growth

Often, when reading a Bible passage we’ve read many times before, we find some new aspect of its message occurs to us through inspiration, to encourage us and feed our thirst for things spiritual. Recently, I read Luke’s account of Jesus’ 40 days in the wilderness and being tempted of the devil (see 4:1–13 ).

Stand still

Where have you laid him?

When I study the weekly Christian Science Bible Lessons I try to pay special attention to the familiar passages from the Scriptures and Science and Health that I’m tempted to read over quickly. I take a moment to ask for an open thought and receptivity to a new way of seeing those words.

Why the Jordan?

When I visited the Jordan River, I saw how much it represented life to Israel. It can be a dry and inhospitable land, but where the river runs there is a flourishing verdure.

Who am I?

“Remember who you are. ” These words were spoken by a father to his son in a movie I was watching.
