INSTANTANEOUS HEALING

From the August 1944 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In the light of Christian Science, instant acceptance and sudden dismissal are analogous. They go hand in hand. Christian Science teaches that when the truth about a situation or condition is seen, understood, and accepted, in that moment the untruth or false belief in regard thereto, which may have been entertained, ceases to have power, and can be immediately dismissed.

Throughout the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, the instant availability of Truth is revealed and the desirability of the quick rejection of error's temptations and allurements is illustrated.

In that most loved Book of books, the Bible, situations are vividly portrayed in which the domination of evil influences has been wholly and quickly overcome by God-fearing men and women who knew the power of the Christ, Truth, and used it to meet the current needs. Outstanding among historic events are the healing and redemptive ministrations' of Jesus, while the miracles which were performed by Moses, Elijah, Elisha, and other distinguished Bible characters are examples of performances to which all Christians may aspire.
