In sickness, grief, lack, and difficult human relations, Christian Science has met my needs for over fifty years and has brought blessings to loved ones. Through the help of practitioners and through my own persistent study and application of the truths of this Science, I have been lifted out of several severe physical problems. But here I should like to relate an experience that was not physical.
In a class in the junior high school where I taught, there was a boy who seemed to enjoy causing a disturbance. Several times I had tried to reason with him, but these talks were ineffective. Finally, after one very discordant class period, I told him to come to me after school.
As he stood before me, I tried to appeal to his sense of decency and fair play. Suddenly clenching his fists and glaring at me, he shouted, "I'm leaving here!" I locked the door. His face became contorted with rage as I tried to induce him to talk it over with me, and, rushing to the door, he threatened to kick his way through the panels. I thought, "Why, this boy seems to be possessed with a devil." I unlocked the door, and he dashed out, screaming threats as he disappeared.
