Strength—Spiritual, Eternal, Illimitable

From the June 1971 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Strength is spiritual. It is the goodness of God made manifest in spiritual and moral stability, a result of Life, Truth, and Love shining through and enlightening thought spiritually. It comes with our recognition and acceptance of the one divine Mind as the only source of power and action.

These spiritual truths, held to as fact, free the human mind from fear and consequently release both human mind and body to express vigor, vitality, energy, endurance. To understand the divine Mind to be the source of all strength and action eliminates the belief in mortal mind or matter as having, or being the source of, strength, volition, or action.

Paul recognized that strength is spiritual, that it comes from God, when he said, "Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might."Eph. 6:10; It is the power of the ever-present Christ, Truth, the power of spiritually balanced, loving thought—humble yet confident—that gives us strength to rise above and stay above the trials of daily human experience.
