Report on Annual Meeting

From the August 1987 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In December 1897 Mary Baker Eddy wrote to her followers in Concord, New Hampshire, "From the interior of Africa to the utmost parts of the earth, the sick and the heavenly homesick or hungry hearts are calling on me for help, and I am helping them" (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 147).

In this year's Annual Meeting of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, members were invited to join in this work of embracing humanity through the healing ministry of Christian Science. An abbreviated account of the meeting, which was held on June 8, follows. In future months we will be sharing more details from the full reports given by the Clerk, the Manager of Committees on Publication, and the Manager of The Christian Science Publishing Society.

The members sang Hymn 253 from the Christian Science Hymnal.
