"Love's work is still going on"

From the April 1999 issue of The Christian Science Journal

This account was originally published in The Herald of Christian Science (Japanese Edition).

When I Took A Job assignment in Tottori Prefecture, there were no international schools in Tottori, so my three children entered local schools knowing little or no Japanese. Our time in Tottori was a wonderful experience. No one wanted to return to our home in America! My children became fluent in Japanese and made many close friends.

After three years, I took a job in Tokyo. We found a nice apartment in a nearby town. Our youngest daughter, Stacey, had started Japanese school from kindergarten, so she was the most fluent. Although she has blonde hair and blue eyes, she thinks and acts just like another Japanese child, so when she entered third grade in her new elementary school, we felt sure she would fit in.
