LETTERS

From the October 2000 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I feel I struck gold in the July issue of the Journal. I loved the way the writer of "The healing effect of spiritual conviction" used the story of Paul and Silas in prison to illustrate the wonderful healing experience she related in her article.

Also, the rebuke to materialism in the article " 'It is the spirit that quickeneth' " could not have been timelier in view of the earthquake of publicity celebrating the mapping of the human genome.

In times of darkness, doubt, and fear, how could one put a monetary value on such encouraging words!
