Shift to a spiritual focus—to report the good news!

From the December 2002 issue of The Christian Science Journal

had over thirty years of experience in radio and television in South Africa and with the British Broadcasting Corporation in London before he became executive producer of Monitor Radio International in Boston. He's now a full-time senior writer for the Christian Science Sentinel. asked him to describe his work.

Kim, you've had to make a shift from traditional journalism into what you might call journalism with a spiritual focus. How have you done that?

Well, the shift was a very happy and easy one because I was changing from chasing the bad news to chasing the good news. And I found that the good news didn't have to be chased at all. It's spilling out all over the place. We could fill 25 years of the Sentinel with the good stories we're uncovering. And, of course, we're looking for healing solutions. The special joy for me is finding people of all races and languages and cultural backgrounds who are discovering God's power at work in their lives.
