THE MOMENTUM CONTINUES FROM THE 2002 ANNUAL MEETING & CONFERENCE

Ideas into action

At the 2002 Annual Meeting & Conference of The Church of Christ, Scientist, participants embraced three overarching messages: the universality of Christian Science; Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures as a resource for everyone; and Mary Baker Eddy's design for a Church to respond to today's demand for spiritual answers. We are inspired by the notes and e-mails we continue to receive from friends and members who have been motivated by these ideas in their interactions with fellow seekers. Here are a few examples.

When the Christian Science Committee on Publication for Colorado asked us to place an inspirational message in our local paper, The Valley Courier, . . . because of extensive forest fires in our region, I combined this effort with the thought given us during the Annual Meeting workshop on "The Pastor -the Bible and Science and Health, " of publishing the subject of our Wednesday evening meeting [at church] .

The following news release was submitted to [our local paper]. The paper described the event as a "Workshop on spiritual rebirth":
