CHURCH ALIVE

ON THE WEB

From the April 2008 issue of The Christian Science Journal

People throughout the worldwide Christian Science community are asking, "How can we be sure that our Christian Science church services are filled with inspiration and healing—really feeding the spiritual needs of today's world?" Of course, everyone wants to stay true to the Church Manual and the healing purpose at the heart of these services. People also wonder how all of us can embrace our communities more fully and help thinkers of all ages find continuing comfort and a family feeling of community in our churches.

That topic has sparked a lively discussion online at TMCYouth. com. In our efforts to follow Mary Baker Eddy's dictum to stay "abreast of the times," the Journal will continue to bring you adapted excerpts from the Web on this and other church-related questions. This month, we've selected just a sampling of the more than 100 postings on the topic of Christian Science church services. We encourage all of you to share your ideas, too, with us at the Journal and through the Church's website.

To dive into this discussion, as well as to read the many other postings online, go to TMCYouth. com and click on "Discussion Forums," then "Community Talk."
