1. So often the word sin strikes fear, guilt, or maybe even self-righteousness into the heart of believers. But in his article "Sin—and the Spiritual Rationale for Casting it Out," Contributing Editor Bill Moody lifts the veil of condemnation from these concepts. Through one Bible account, we see how Jesus, when confronted with a sinner, showed only "compassion, healing, and redemption." Bill's inspiring article illustrates how all of us can be "lifted out of [sin's] mental darkness into the bright 'light of life.'" Page 22.

2. How can we maintain a spirit of unity and fellowship with others, especially when friction or selfish tendencies threaten peace? Christian Science practitioner and teacher Lois Carlson writes from her homes base in Chicago that the sixth tenet of The Mother Church, taken to heart and practiced, strengthens Christian character and enables us to have one mind, or a common basis for thought and action—the divine Mind that was in Christ Jesus. "The Sixth Tenet: A Promise." Page 39.

3. Lyle Young and his wife, Elisabeth, reside in Canada's capital, Ottawa, where several cultures live and thrive together. A Christian Science healer, and teacher since 1992, Lyle has served The Mother Church in a host of roles, including as a member of the Board of Lectureship, as First Reader of The Mother Church, as Committee on Publication for Ontario, and Federal Representative for Canada. In "Jonah: No Irreversible Mistakes," he shares a favorite Bible story and how it applies to this month's featured synonym for God, Mind. Page 43.
