THE SELF-ACTING POWER OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

A CONVERSATION WITH ROB GILBERT

From the December 2009 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Rob Gilbert looks for ways to help people. So after receiving a Masters of Theology in Biblical Studies from Boston University School of Theology, he joined the Army. He served for five years as a chaplain, helping people of all faiths and traditions. In 1975 Rob left active duty and opened an office as a Christian Science practitioner. He continued in the Army Reserves until he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. In 1988, after helping countless people find restoration and healing, he became an authorized Christian Science teacher.

Rob lives near Los Angeles in Upland, California. I called him from my office here in Boston recently. I'd e-mailed Rob some questions to get his wheels turning. But I really wanted him just to tell me what's on his mind these days. So we took a different tack.

I put the questions aside. "Rob," I asked, "what ideas in your current study and practice of Christian Science light your fire?"
