Stay in Spirit

From the April 2011 issue of The Christian Science Journal

There is a place, a place of bliss and peace, and it is called “heaven.” It’s here and now. You and I can access it at any time. It’s described in the Glossary of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy as “Harmony; the reign of Spirit; government by divine Principle; spirituality; bliss; the atmosphere of Soul” (p. 587). It is a place of Spirit. And healing comes when we turn from materiality and reside in Spirit.

Often when I turn to God to know how to pray about any given situation, I will hear the words, “Just stay in Spirit.” Sometimes I say to myself, “It can’t be this simple,” but eventually I do my best to be obedient to what I’m hearing.

It’s natural to reside in heaven, for it is where you and I truly live. It is our spiritual and only real home. It may seem to the material senses that we reside in matter. But that’s not really the case.
