Quick Healing of An Injury

From the November 2014 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Originally written in French, this testimony first appeared in the July 2014 Portuguese, Spanish, French, and German editions of The Herald of Christian Science.

A recent event has made me better understand the immediate help that Christian Science offers to us at all times.

I was installing a curtain rod at home, and as I firmly pushed a part into its narrow groove, my thumb and nail turned completely backward. I felt a staggering pain, and my thumb became discolored. However, I was able to stay calm, and I declared that God, good, was the source of my movement, and that my whole being, as a spiritual idea of God, existed with uninterrupted grace and harmony.

I attributed my inner calm to the in-depth reading of the Christian Science Sentinel I had done the night before, which had given me much inspiration. I had particularly enjoyed the way the writers had shared their understanding and application of the teachings presented in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. And now, passages that had been quoted by the writers came back to me so that I, too, was able to feel God’s action and presence.
