Interviews

Christian Science nursing and Christ-healing

From the June 2014 issue of The Christian Science Journal

On February 11 and 12, a two-day meeting on “Christian Science Nursing and Sustainability” was held at The Mother Church in Boston.  Participants came from the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, Australia, Canada, and the United States. The members of the Christian Science Board of Directors were present, along with the Manager of Committees on Publication, and the Church’s General Counsel and its Treasurer.

It was a forum in which these spiritually-minded and forward-thinking healers came together to consider what might be needed to have Christian Science nursing be sustainable into the future and, more generally, to consider nursing’s place in our Church.

There were several participants whose individual lives represented decades dedicated to Christian Science nursing. Others had been serving on Christian Science nonprofit boards and foundations that directly support Christian Science nursing in some way.
