Commitment to Healing

from the Christian Science Board of Directors

From the February 2015 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Since last year’s Annual Meeting on the theme “A spiritual foundation of Christ-healing,” we’ve seen a growing church-wide desire for the strengthening of commitment to healing. The prayer and working together of many in the Field and at The Mother Church have been bringing out some inspiring and definite steps of progress.

Roundtable discussions in the Field for those interested in the public practice of Christian Science are being facilitated with the help of the Department of Practitioner Activities. Christian Science Nursing Activities is supporting meetings in regard to the role of Christian Science nursing in healing.  And the Department of Branch Activities is supporting meetings for individual branches called “Moving Forward Together as a Church of Healers.” But at the heart of each and every one of these meetings is an open, heart-felt, family-style conversation among the Christian Scientists attending.

A primary aim has been listening together for the Christ speaking to human consciousness, and it’s led to mutual encouragement and support for each other. Many attending have said they’ve felt a new and different spirit in these meetings.
