Commitment to Healing

Christian Science Nursing

Taking our thought into the ‘upper room’

From the August 2015 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Thanks so much for all that you are doing to promote a better understanding of and support for the Christ-healing that we are so privileged and blessed to study and practice. It was very interesting to attend recent meetings on Christian Science nursing.

While recently studying Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, I came to where Mrs. Eddy says, “The nurse should be cheerful, orderly, punctual, patient, full of faith,—receptive to Truth and Love” (p. 395). It made me think of what we discussed at the meeting about inviting certain qualities into our home. It struck me that putting these qualities into practice helps us when we need to “nurse” a situation, and that we should embrace them in others as well.

There have been opportunities for me to put these inspiring ideas into practice.
