The obstetrics of Christian Science

From The Christian Science Journal - October 8, 2012

I have had the privilege of raising three children, all boys. I love them very much and have learned a great deal from each one of them.

When I found out that I was pregnant with my first child, I was deeply moved and happy. As a student of Christian Science, I instinctively began to pray each day for this child’s unfoldment. I knew he was God’s child coming forth into my experience to bless and be blessed.

I contacted our family’s Christian Science practitioner, and to support this pregnancy we decided to do a special reading of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. I read it through from cover to cover. I was mentally raising up this child in my prayers, cherishing his spiritual nature. It was a sacred time of communing with God, divine Truth and Love.
