The popular teaching to-day, and from time immemorial, regarding heaven, tends to define it as a particular locality situated somewhere in infinite space, beyond the sun, moon, and stars, and to designate it as the abode of God and the faithful departed, where gladness and joy will reign forever. The Century Dictionary in defining heaven says, "In Christian theology heaven is regarded as the region or state of endless happiness enjoyed by angels and faithful departed spirits in the immediate presence of God.
In reading the Scriptures in the light of Christian Science the earnest student is continuously impressed with the perfect consonance existing between the sacred writings and the exegesis of their spiritual import contained in our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
Harmony in music is expressed in the blending of tones that are concordant. Nothing is more frequently misunderstood regarding Christian Science than its attitude towards the phenomena of what is called material creation. The bald statement of the unreality of matter might cause a state of consternation in the thought of some people who are inquiring into Christian Science, though the premise from which this conclusion is logically drawn; viz.

Probably every child when he first learns of God thinks of Him in a general way as being an enlarged man up in the sky or away at a distance. Many adult people have not escaped from the habit of thus thinking of God, more or less vaguely, as having a body like the human body, or at least as having a body with definite outlines of some kind.
Every student of the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, learns as one of his first lessons that Truth is eternal.
Christian Science is looked upon by many as no more than an agency for the healing of physical diseases. By the uninformed its claim to be a religion is overlooked.
