At Thy Command

In Thy way, Father, and at Thy command Would I fulfill the purpose Thou hast planned. Oh, let my ears be open to Thy Word, My heart prepared to do what shall be heard.

The Ethiopian

How wonderful it is at last to know! My heart rejoices at the tender word Which I have sought so long and learned today. I left my home these many weeks ago To seek the great I AM, of whom I'd heard, The God to whom all men must come to pray.

The House in Lynn

The house in Lynn Was filled with healing peace, That summer morning, as we slowly climbed The narrow flight of stairs And reached the room Beneath the skylight where the rocker stood. Never was a room, so humbly furnished, Filled With quieter holiness.

Lord, let me not by jealous act pluck up The smallest seedling of my brother's hope; Let no uncalled-for candor break an ear That, left to grow, full harvesting shall bear.

Easter Certainty

Christ Jesus rose from the tomb. This is no empty story, remote and far away.

Resurrection from Within

Christ rolled away the stone. And nothing now can bar us from the light.

Remember how they boarded ship that day, The Master and the twelve, and as they sailed, He fell asleep—and how great winds arose And raging waves from every side prevailed? They cried out in their fear till he awoke And calmed the tempest. "Peace, be still," he said, Affirming Mind's omnipotent control, Through which the sick were healed, the thousands fed.

True Patience

They told me patience was still resignation, An underbearing of inevitable woe. They said that patience had a suffering designation.
