Testimonies of Healing
In numerous ways I have been benefited by Christian Science; so also has my little son, who has never had anything but this truth for medicine. I have been studying Christian Science only about five years, although I have known of it and been helped by it since I was ten years old.
Christian Science found me in a very wretched condition, for I had suffered a great many years from a weakness which had developed into what is known as tuberculosis of the spine. I wore steel braces for over five years and lived as much as possible according to the physical rules of health.
It has come to me frequently of late that I should send a hymn of thanksgiving and praise to the giver of "every good gift and every perfect gift" for the multitude of blessings that have come to me and mine since we first began to investigate Christian Science more than eighteen years ago. Truly it has healed and helped us many times, and has never failed when sought and applied in the way of God's appointing, as our dear Leader has taught us in Science and Health.
In 1894 a dear friend told me that I could be healed by reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
I can never be grateful enough for what Christian Science has done for me. I know it is of God, everlasting Truth.
Words seem inadequate to express my gratitude for the many blessings received through the understanding of the truth as gained in the study of Christian Science. On Aug.
I cannot adequately express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me, but I must not delay any longer in telling of my healing, as it may encourage others who are struggling with like problems. For eight years after the birth of my second child I had to wear a support on account of uterine trouble.
With a heart full of gratitude I want to tell others what Christian Science has done for my family. Two and a half years ago we were living in a small town where there were no Christian Scientists, but a Christian Science practitioner came to visit her sister there.
The story of Paul's conversion as found in Acts has always reminded me of my experience and how I was brought into Christian Science. I married a student of this teaching, and for four months our home was in confusion, because of my bitter hatred toward what I thought Christian Science to be.
From my earliest recollection I was religiously inclined, and I had a standard of pure living to which I tried to attain. As I grew into young womanhood, however, I was influenced to do things of which I did not approve, and found myself in one continuous round of gaiety.
