Testimonies of Healing
I was introduced to Christian Science in 1952, and when I began to study it my life opened to a new chapter. I was a young mother with a husband and three children, not much money, and a desperate need to know God.
During World War II I had a marvelous healing, and subsequently gave a rotten testimony about it in church. But frankly, over the years the "blown" testimony has been much more instructive and blessing than the healing.
During a family ski trip I took a pretty hard fall, twisting my knee. I found I could not even stand.
Through the years I have found that an excellent way to grow in the understanding and demonstration of Christ Jesus' teachings is by participating consistently in church activity. All of the various activities I've undertaken for church have required much time and prayer, but they also have brought me lots of joy, spiritual growth, and healing.

I would like to express some of the immeasurable thanks I feel for Christian Science. It has been for me like the leaven the woman put in the three measures of meal (see Luke 13:21); it has transformed my goals, motives, well-being, perception, relationships—my very life.
Shortly after having taken Christian Science class instruction I had a wonderfully quick healing of a severe burn. I had borrowed an electric heating element to start the coals in our barbecue pit, and since we decided to go for a boat ride on the lake, I thought it wise to remove the element before we started.
In 1984, after several years of ill health, I was told by a respected gynaecologist that my only hope of regaining full health was to undergo a hysterectomy. Since I was only twenty-eight years old, had been married for just three years, and had no children, I was devastated.
Some years ago I had a healing of deafness. Hearing had first stopped in one ear, and I depended on the other.
To hold persistently to divine Truth and to insist persistently for the truth will bring healing. Mary Baker Eddy writes in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, "By lifting thought above error, or disease, and contending persistently for truth, you destroy error" ( p.
