Testimonies of Healing
My mother passed on when I was an infant, and my father also passed away when I was still at a tender age. Relatives took care of me, but things were rugged as I was growing up.
One summer evening, I was retrieving a toy for one of our children under the deck in our backyard. It was quite dark under the deck, and as I knelt down to search for the toy, I placed both knees on a board that had several rusty nails poking through it.
A Bible phrase reads, "Bring an offering unto the Lord" (Leviticus). As I thought about this, I felt compelled to write this testimonial as my offering of gratitude for the healing power of Truth I've demonstrated through my study and practice of Christian Science.
From early childhood I never felt quite healthy. Also, I never got along well with my classmates or teachers at school because of an inferiority complex.
Quite a few years ago when I was a sophomore in college, an event happened that was very significant to me. A word that best describes my attitude toward Christian Science prior to college is uncommitted.
I just love Christian Science. I love it for the wonderful truths it reveals about God, our one and only creator; these truths reaffirm all that the Bible and Christ Jesus taught.
Gratitude and love should abide in every heart each day of all the years," we read in the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy.
One day I woke to find a red patch on my face, near my eye. I began to pray about this, but I became frightened when my face started to swell and my eye to close.
I am very grateful to be learning more about God and man's relationship to Him through the study and demonstration of Christian Science. Two years ago I had the opportunity to recognize and demonstrate more fully the healing power of this Science.
That Christian Science heals is unquestionable to me. In a time when the efficacy and safety of reliance on prayer in Christian Science for the healing of our children is being publicly challenged, I am humbly grateful to have witnessed the following healing of my daughter.
