Testimonies of Healing
It is with profound gratitude for blessings that transformed my life that I write this testimony. These blessings came as a result of utilising the truths contained in the teachings of Christian Science.
"The kingdom of God is not in word, but in power" (I Corinthians). This is true today, since Christian Science does in fact heal.
I am very grateful to be a third-generation Christian Scientist. Healings that my younger sister and I experienced as children are truly the "family jewels.
Fifteen years ago Christian Science was of tremendous help to me when we were expecting our first child. Late in my seventh month of pregnancy I became ill with periods of nausea and unconsciousness.
Each summer for many years, my husband and I have returned to a university nearby to attend the summer sessions. We stay in one of the dormitories and have our meals with other attending students and the professors.
As a child I was considered quite frail and fearful. After I had married and was pregnant for the second time, I became very weak.
Although I grew up in a Christian home in which church attendance was an important family activity, as a young adult I simply stopped attending. I suppose I felt at the time that religion had no practical import in my daily life.
I was only two years old when my parents found out about Christian Science, and the change in my life that began then has given me enormous joy, progress, and fulfillment. As a child I had quick healings of measles, chicken pox, scarlet fever, impetigo, and occasional cuts and abrasions.
My heart overflows with gratitude for Christian Science and for the woman who lived Christian Science in her daily life so well that she impelled my mother to enquire of her about this Science. Eventually my mother enrolled me in the Christian Science Sunday School, which provided me with a wonderful basis from which to embark on life.
" The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works" (Psalms). After an accident in my home, I was bothered for some time by an injured foot.
