Commitment to Healing

On Saturday , November 15, 2014, I attended the first roundtable of the day in New York City for church members interested in strengthening their practice of Christian Science. It was such an inspirational, uplifting morning! Before I attended the meeting, I wondered if it would be an informational lecture, a “Q and A,” or if we would be asked to take some kind of test or fill out questionnaires.

A ‘rousing’ assignment!

The announcement of the meeting at my local branch Church of Christ, Scientist, sent me once again to study Mary Baker Eddy’s definition of Church so that I’d be prepared to participate. I did not expect to find something that stirred my thought in such a needed way.

A necessary revival

Our branch church membership viewed the online video put out by the Christian Science Board of Directors of The Mother Church and read a related letter from the Board about the healing mission of church. Editor’s note: You can read the Board’s letter and view the video online at christianscience.

Since last year’s Annual Meeting on the theme “A spiritual foundation of Christ-healing,” we’ve seen a growing church-wide desire for the strengthening of commitment to healing. The prayer and working together of many in the Field and at The Mother Church have been bringing out some inspiring and definite steps of progress.
