The Secret Place

From the July 1960 issue of The Christian Science Journal

O sacred sanctuary
In which we dwell,
No exodus nor end
Can mark thy terminal.
Boundless the realm
Wherein the angels sing
Their heavenly symphony.

Within Love's sanctuary
(Mind's secret place)
All life appears
In vast variety.
Children of day are we,
Not offsprings of the night:
Born into beauty,
Benisoned with light,
Where God is known
And man is understood
To dwell forever
In eternal good,
His true environment.
Here is the bread of Life,
The heavenly food,
The well unfathomed
And the wine unspent.
Here we abide
And with a deep content
Awaken satisfied.
