Testimonies of Healing

My gratitude is unbounded for the good. . .

From the June 1968 issue of The Christian Science Journal

My gratitude is unbounded for the good that has come to me from my study of Mrs. Eddy's writings and the Christian Science periodicals. There have been times when the need for a practitioner has become unnecessary after I have studied some of the fine articles in The Christian Science Journal or the Christian Science Sentinel. Therefore I want to add my testimony to the many that have been forthcoming throughout the years.

Among my first healings were those of social smoking and drinking of alcoholic beverages, migraine, teeth difficulties, and influenza. Since I had no religious background during my childhood, my understanding of God through Christian Science came rather slowly. During the first ten years of my study I became a member of The Mother Church and of a branch church and served the Cause in every way that I could. I felt that active duty in the branch church was the only way of expressing gratitude for all the good that the devotion to church was doing for me.

During this first ten-year period of growth I had many discouraging doubts, and the temptations to discontinue my study were very great. However, as I gained a clearer concept of divine healing, and as the proof of God's care became more and more evident in the healings that were taking place in my experience, I knew that I must go on to have class instruction so that I could help others if possible. This I did.
