It is with profound gratitude for blessings that transformed my life that I write this testimony. These blessings came as a result of utilising the truths contained in the teachings of Christian Science.
In May 1986 catastrophes of a hurricane type hit our home. My husband was dismissed from his job. Because members of his department were involved in a big scandal, all our family assets were frozen and later forfeited to the state. My husband faced three court cases, and the whole family faced a year of inflated media coverage. And then my beloved husband passed on after a short illness in 1987.
I was thrust into a mental wilderness, and great fear engulfed me. Grief, self-pity, depression, hurt, shock, and blame traumatized my thoughts and feelings. But these words from a hymn in the Christian Science Hymnal gave me a straw to hold to:
