"Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you,
and persecute you...for my sake" (Matt. 5:11).
"Look! You are blessed!"
This angel thought woke me
from being impressed
by revile and persecute
(frequent skepticism, so many critics)
and missing the word blessed!
So I began to look and see
—my heart firm in Christ's Christianity—
what blessings God had that day for me.
Before too long
a neighbor came
with grateful sharing;
a loved one was healed—
perfect solution;
a lingering piece of
property...sold!
Thank you, dear Father,
for Your Christ bequest
shining out from Your infinite caring.
Mortal ignorance? I'm not impressed—
in Your allness, I know I'm blessed.
