In her conversation in the May 2007 Journal ["Singing God's Song," p. 14], Dee Lewis mentions Mary Baker Eddy's prediction "If the lives of Christian Scientists attest their fidelity to Truth, I predict that in the twentieth century every Christian church in our land, and a few in far-off lands, will approximate the understanding of Christian Science sufficiently to heal the sick in his name." This quote, which appears in Pulpit and Press, continues, "Christ will give to Christianity his new name, and Christendom will be classified as Christian Scientists" [p. 22].
Christendom is not yet classified as Christian Scientists, and Lewis says some people feel it's too late to fulfill this prediction, since the 20th century is over. But she sees it as a continuing directive, a constant reminder to attest our fidelity to Truth in the world.
I agree. The prediction was conditional, and is most useful as a guideline, not a deadline.
