Church Alive

Church.
The structure of Truth and Love; whatever rests upon and proceeds from divine Principle.
The Church is that institution, which affords proof of its utility and is found elevating the race, rousing the dormant understanding from material beliefs to the apprehension of spiritual ideas and the demonstration of divine Science, thereby casting out devils, or error, and healing the sick.
—Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures

Our online congregants

From the March 2012 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Internet has revolutionized the way we communicate and connect. Recently, I have received tangible proofs of how good news travels fast and misses no seeker for Truth.

One such seeker is a career woman from Kyushu, Japan. Kyushu is one of the four major islands of Japan. Neither a Church of Christ, Scientist, nor a Christian Science Society exists there. Many years ago, this woman lived in the United States, where she often passed a Christian Science Reading Room. One day, out of curiosity, she picked up a copy of the Christian Science Sentinel on a stand of free literature outside.

After her return to Japan, she bought a Sentinel from time to time to read. Two years ago she began reading Science and Health.
