Parliament of the World’s Religions—2015

‘A Christian Scientist shares on healing and Scriptures’

From the February 2016 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The 2015 Parliament of the World’s Religions was held in Salt Lake City from October 15 to 19. The theme of the worldwide meeting, attended by some 9,500 people representing approximately 50 religions, was “Reclaiming the Heart of Our Humanity: Working Together for a World of Compassion, Peace, Justice, and Sustainability.”

The Christian Science Board of Directors asked Dr. Mary Trammell, C.S.B., of Boca Raton, Florida, to attend the event as a representative of The Mother Church. She was then invited by the Parliament to conduct a 90-minute workshop session on the subject “A Christian Scientist shares on healing and Scriptures.” Below is her talk, which has been lightly edited for publication.

This is my first Parliament of the World’s Religions, but Christian Science has a long history with the Parliament. Actually, Christian Science and its Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, were represented at the very first Parliament in 1893!
