Testimonies of Healing

Deep cut healed quickly

From the February 2017 issue of The Christian Science Journal

One weekend about a year ago, I was planning to go to a family party and decided to get a professional pedicure beforehand. The salon attendant who took care of me suddenly became disoriented and accidentally cut my foot with a sharp tool. The cut was very deep, and the foot was bleeding profusely.

The women at the shop were alarmed and wanted to take me to an emergency service in a hospital right away. I declined their offer, wrapped my foot with a towel, and came home. The immediate thought came to me that I was not separated from God and His loving care. I whispered to myself the comforting words of “Be still and know that I am God,” from a CD of solos sung in The Mother Church by Osceola Davis.

Since I had experienced so many healings through Christian Science in the past, I decided to rely completely on God to meet this challenge. I studied Mary Baker Eddy’s answer to the question “What is man?” on page 475 of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, which begins: “Man is not matter; he is not made up of brain, blood, bones, and other material elements. The Scriptures inform us that man is made in the image and likeness of God.”
