[Written for the Journal.]

From the January 1905 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I seek from thee, O perfect Love,
A knowledge of the things above.

Let sense no longer bind me fast
To things of future, things of past,
Or present things that cannot last;

But give me now thy joy and song
Which waft sweet notes of health along,
To heal earth's weary, waiting throng.

And, too, O God of love and peace,
Let hour of worship never cease;
And give me now from sin release.

Dispel all anxious, selfish care;
Let idleness no more ensnare,
And make my life, one selfless prayer.
