Letters

From the May 1885 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Somerville, May 1st, 1885.

"Loyal students will feel God-impelled in these days to defend the Truth that makes free from the bondage of evil; and her, Truth's chosen representative. There is not on record any plan of redemption like that of Christian Science since the days of the Galilean Prophet.

It is the interpretation of Scripture in the "new tongue," and can only be Spiritually comprehended. Of course, then, it does not accord with the mortal sense of things. Where the senses declare we are sick, suffering or dying, divine science declares us perfect and harmonious. To which shall we give heed? The Scriptures reply, "Let God be true, and every man a liar." If we will consciously realize the divine statement of being, written for our salvation from sense bondage, by Mrs. Eddy, in the first volume of her work Science and Health, page 169, we shall be healed of all our diseases and false conceptions of ourselves. Would that every Christian professor would investigate this new interpretation of Bible words; and it rests almost wholly with those who have entered into the light, to lead them to the investigation which will be unto them saving life. Let none of us fail to do the duty so manifestly set before us.
