REALITY

From the September 1903 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I dwell not here; this sense of life
With all its fret, and jar, and strife
Is not true living,
'Tis slavery. I live above,
Where time is joy, where life is love,
Its freedom giving.

Your lands, your bonds, and all your gain
Weigh nothing there; all, all are vain,
My wealth eternal.
My wealth fills boundless realms of thought
'Tis real, its endless resource fraught
With joy supernal.
