SPIRITUAL ASCENSION

From the April 1930 issue of The Christian Science Journal

THE infinite possibilities of thought that is conscious only of the presence of God, divine Mind, are proclaimed in Christ Jesus' words, "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me."

The uplifted spiritual consciousness is unfailingly clad with divine power. Every thought of love, every deed of kindness, every realization of the real man's oneness with the Father, every vision of spiritual selfhood, helps human thought to gain a clearer sense of true existence. Of this blessed appearing of the truth Mrs. Eddy says, on page 509 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," "The periods of spiritual ascension are the days and seasons of Mind's creation, in which beauty, sublimity, purity, and holiness—yea, the divine nature—appear in man and the universe never to disappear."

Holy periods of spiritual ascension always leave far behind material fears and beliefs, false laws of personal sense. The consciousness which reflects God sees only beauty, perfection, holiness. In moments of spiritual enlightenment, how unreal materiality becomes; and how real, true, beautiful, and altogether tangible become spiritual realities, constantly unfolding more of power, substance, life, and health!
