I have been a student of Christian Science for about nine years, and it has brought me many blessings.
I have been healed of constipation, frequent colds, warts, and many other ailments through the application of this Science and have been able to arrest the progress of symptoms, saving myself and others much inconvenience.
We were led to our present home through Christian Science, and since we needed a well on our farm, we applied the rules of Christian Science to that also. We were told that our land had a layer of solid rock close to the surface and it would be impossible to get water. The well driller was very reluctant to drill here, but we finally persuaded him to go to work at a spot we chose as being the most convenient for our use. He did not hit rock in this spot for a hundred and thirty feet, and then after ten feet more he found an abundance of water. We are very grateful for this demonstration and thankful to a relative who helped us work this out through the study of the Christ Science.
Our whole dairy herd has been healed of mastitis, with no aftereffects. Once the thought came to us that in this locality we had only one market for our milk, and we felt some fear about it. We wondered what would become of us if we lost that market. Shortly after this we were notified to stop sending milk. After we did some metaphysical work and studied Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, we were informed that two other companies wanted milk; and shortly afterward the original company asked that we send the milk to them again. This certainly proves that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health, p. 494) . We know that to the extent we realize "there is no power apart from God" (Science and Health, p. 228) our seeming problems vanish.
When our local Christian Science Society was recognized by The Mother Church, it was to me as if a door had opened, "and I saw a new heaven and a new earth" (Rev. 21:1). It is a great privilege to be able to serve in the society in any capacity. This is but one of the many blessings we receive by joining The Mother Church.
