THE CHRIST IS HERE

From the September 1959 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The Christ is here, all dreams of error breaking,
Unloosing bonds of all captivity.

This comforting statement of the mission of the ever-present Christ is found in the Christian Science Hymnal (No. 202). The Christ admits of no bounds or bonds, no restrictions or obstructions. Its potent beneficence deals decisively with all adversity, every suggestion of reversal or opposite of good.

Throughout the writings of Mary Baker Eddy there are many revealing explanations and illustrations of the Christ. In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 583) is this definition: "Christ. The divine manifestation of God, which comes to the flesh to destroy incarnate error."
