From the October 1968 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The selection of Mrs. Lenore D. Hanks, C. S. B., of Portland, Oregon, as a Director of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts, was announced by The Christian Science Board of Directors.

Mrs. Hanks succeeds Miss L. Ivimy Gwalter, C. S. B., of Boston, who has retired from the Board of Directors after twenty years of service on that Board. Miss Gwalter will devote her full time to the teaching and public practice of Christian Science. She will continue to hold her classes and conduct the meetings of her pupils' association in Boston.

Miss Gwalter has been a member of The Mother Church since 1904. She became active in the practice of Christian Science healing in 1918, and has been listed in The Christian Science Journal as a practitioner since 1922. She is a native of New York, where her mother, Mrs. Lucy L. Gwalter, C. S. B., practiced and taught Christian Science. Miss Gwalter received Primary class instruction from her mother in 1910 and herself became an authorized teacher of Christian Science in 1940. She also became a frequent contributor to the Christian Science periodicals.
