Poems

To a ready RECIPIENT

From the December 1981 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Waking world,
you're awaiting this faith-filled prayer.
Not a world "out there," your place is right where
consciousness is dwelling.
Spiritual, complete, enveloped here in all-embracing Life,
you, blessed world, embody and reflect
the pure perfection of our God.
And I detect that right where evil's night
pretends to be,
right there omnipotence reveals reality:
unshrouded, uncrowded, unbeclouded soundness
of Mind's making.

(To that truth I'm waking with love-bejeweled awareness.)
May I not careless/prayerless be,
but rather giving/living
daily, purified desire
for a waking world.
