Let love be...

From the May 1982 issue of The Christian Science Journal

indiscriminate as summer rain,
blessing all who come
within the circle of our thought.
Let love be not like a dole
bestowed on some in meager portions,
but let it rather flow
as freely as the rising tide.
Impartial let our loving be;
in imitation of our Father, God,
whose gentling grace it is
that feeds our starving sense.

Let living words form loving deeds
and selfless action measure out
the earnest of our care.
Love unexpressed would be oblivion,
but Love displayed
(the Christly law fulfilled)
is manna for a hungering world.
