Guided by Love

From the February 1998 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Sometimes I believe
it's all up to me,
avoiding defeat
or gaining victory.

Emptiness fills me,
fear settles with a chill,
as I realize the limits
of my own human will.

But God's voice in the stillness,
heard in prayer sweet and pure,
surrounds me with goodness
and dissolves all my fear.

Humbly I reach out,
acknowledge my guide;
draw strength from the presence
of Truth in which I abide.

Affirmed is my goodness,
divine gift from above—
with assurance and purpose
I am guided by Love.
