One Father, one family

The different kinds of beauty in the world
can be seen as hints of God's beauty and goodness,
not as reasons for conflict and division.

From the March 1999 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Parentage Is Usually Considered a basic element of one's identity. Did not the prophet Malachi point to the real parentage we all have when he asked succinctly, "Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us?" Mal. 2:10

When we consider the diverse religions, races, and cultures in the world, is it possible to agree with Malachi? Yes. This Old Testament seer was pointing to our real source, God, and to our real identity in His likeness. All men, women, and children, in their true, spiritual identity, come from God, our universal Father and Mother. Recognizing our oneness with God and obeying His laws enable us to live in peace with our neighbors.

The Lord's Prayer
relates all of us
to God as our Father,
enabling us to prove
His love for all.
