Testimonies of Healing

Even the simplest truth heals

Sometimes sticking to the simplest truth can bring about healing. In this case it was: “Man is made in the image and likeness of God” from the Bible’s book of Genesis (see 1:26, 27).

As I lay in bed feeling feverish and under the influence of a cold, these simple words kept repeating in my thought. I seemed so strongly held by them, and I could think of nothing else. When praying, I would typically take such a statement apart, word by word, and expand on it in my prayers. This time I could stay zeroed in only on this one statement.

At around five o’clock in the evening, my husband came into the bedroom briefly, saying, “Don’t give in to error.” I knew my husband was encouraging me to look past nagging physical symptoms and realize my freedom from illness. In a flash and with great conviction, I sat bolt upright in bed. Words came to me very loud and strong: “If you are indeed made in the image and likeness of God, what are you doing in bed?”
