God’s angel messages

From the May 2024 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Have you ever heard of a “Godwink”? My daughter recently used that phrase to describe an experience where she felt God’s tender care for her. It’s a little reminder, as if God is saying, “I love you, My child.”

As a student of Christian Science, I’ve learned that those moments are real. They are deep and meaningful times when we feel God’s loving presence near and dear to us, and hear His angel messages. Mary Baker Eddy, the woman who discovered Christian Science, defines angels in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures as: “God’s thoughts passing to man; spiritual intuitions, pure and perfect; the inspiration of goodness, purity, and immortality, counteracting all evil, sensuality, and mortality” (p. 581). I’ve learned that God is speaking to each of us in a way we can understand. It is so important to recognize that God does speak to us. We are His dearly beloved children, and His care can be felt, though we have to be listening and be willing to receive His messages, and obey them.

God is speaking to each of us in a way we can understand.
