“Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” (Psalms 107:15).
This psalm, together with many others in this year’s Thanksgiving Bible Lesson, shows us that gratitude is inseparable from praising God. It’s a joyful acknowledgment of the blessing and care that He provides. In this spirit, gratitude is truly a declaration of the tangible existence of good in our lives—with God as its source.
As in previous years, the Thanksgiving Bible Lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly is available for free online to read, study, and share with others. You can find it in English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish at biblelesson.com/thanksgiving.
Our study of the Pastor, together with the expressions of gratitude shared in Thanksgiving church services, supports our demonstration of the two greatest commandments: loving God with all our heart, and loving our neighbor as ourselves. We would love to hear how this Lesson inspires you to demonstrate your gratitude, so please write to us anytime at quarterly@csps.com.
