Testimonies of Healing

Christian Science has brought...

From the September 1912 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science has brought so much of strength, love, and peace into my life that it is a source of constant joy to me to be able in some measure humbly to reflect the Love which never fails to set free from sin and disease those who seek its aid. There are many ways in which we can give a loving thought, a loving word of encouragement, and do little acts of kindness in our every-day life, and as we keep alert to Truth and Love, we are ever awake to these opportunities. Our Wednesday evening meetings offer us the privilege of giving our tithes, and such a blessed privilege it is! The joy of giving overcomes the sense of fear, which would keep us from spreading the glad news. Then our periodicals open another way to give to others what may prove to them a source of help and joy.

Through Christian Science I have been healed of many ills. A foot which had been crooked for five years was straightened, and my leg was lengthened three quarters of an inch, after two operations, besides various other remedies, had failed. I have been freed from the bondage of belief in hypnotism, from a chronic bowel disorder; of almost a chronic state of cold; of a slight curvature of the spine; of an uncontrollable fear of everything; of a very terrible temper, and of a resentful, jealous disposition. I have also been healed of dropsy, which had become so bad that the water was rising around my heart and all functional action had ceased for weeks. An internal growth was also removed.

But what is more than all this, divine Love is bringing more and' more sweetness into my life, and I am so grateful to know that Love's blessings are for all humanity, and that by trying to live the life of Love, we can help to lead others into this healing truth that frees us from every discordant condition. This is why it is such a joy to give. The words of our beloved Leader (Poems, p. 13) best express my one great desire.
